Studies in White

Looking carefully in these white-on-white images, you'll see birch limbs being painted white. Mary is using our plastic-sheathed hoop house to spray these limbs for her holiday arrangements. Mary does the flowers and holiday decorations for a Fortune 500 company headquarters, and I always enjoy seeing what she does for them. These limbs are all about 6 feet high and will be grouped with Christmas trees, beautiful lighting arrangements and several deer made out of sticks for the company's holidays. PS: The brown leaves in the photos are not part of the art, lol, they're just some of the gazillion fall leaves blowing around the yard.

  2. thanks, Granny. it's not always easy to come up with something interesting, lol. I've been busy with some extra work recently too, which I thought I wasn't going to have to do. Even my art is taking a back seat right now.

  5. MALIBU,HOWDY,I SEE YOUR FROM THE MIDWEST. I LIVED FOR A LONG TIME IN BOTH TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA WHEN GRAMPS AND I WERE YOUNG. GOOD PEOPLE LIVE IN THE MIDWEST. I'D LIKE TO THINK I'M A GOOD PERSON UNLESS SOMEONE PUSHES ME UP AGAINT A WALL.BUT I NEVER STAY MAD. I DON'T LIKE TO WASTE MY ENERGY ON HURTS. I'M ALWAY FIRST TO SAY I'M SORRY. IF IT'S EXCEPTED THAT'S A GOOD THING AND IF NOT THEN I LOOK AT IT AS BEING THEIR PROBLEM. JUST A LITTLE ABOUT ME. IN MY 73 YEARS THERE'S ONLY ONE PERSON THAT DOESN'T LIKE ME. GUESS WHAT? I SAID I'M SORRY FOR NASTY WORDS THAT SLID OUT OF MY MOUTH. HE STARTED THE INCIDENT.SO NOW IT'S HIS PROBLEM. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS I LOOK AT OTHER THAT HAVE PROBLEMS AND FIGURE I'M LUCKY. I'VE LIVED MANY PLACES AND HAVE FRIENDS NEAR AND FAR. I JUST WISH I COULD TRAVEL MORE AND ENJOY THEIR COMPANY. HOW ABOUT YOU? DO YOU TRAVEL OR ARE YOU STILL IN SCHOOL? I'M JUST RATTLING ON BECAUSE CASEY IS BUSY.

CASEY, SOMETIME WE ALL HAVE TO LEARN TO BREATH. JUST DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. ENJOY YOUR TIME. I'LL JUST PEEK AND WHEN YOU PUT SOMETHING ON YOUR BLOG THAT'S A PLUS. SOME DAYS I JUST DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY EXCEPT SOMETHING STUPID BUT I SAY SOMETHING.JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH ENJOYMENT YOU HAVE GIVEN US BUT I THINK I'VE SAID THAT BEFORE. SO NICE TO COME TO A BLOG WHERE THERE'S NICE THINGS BEING SAID AND NOT FILTH ALL THE TIME. I'M BROAD MINDED ON ALOT OF THINGS BUT I DON'T LIKE FILTH.

TIME TO SAY GOOD NIGHT PAL.

  6. Hello Casey,

Just came in from a sunset walk on the beach . Oddly enough, speaking of 2 1/2 Men , we walked past all those beach mansions on the north side of Zuma. It was low tide. Small waves came in and made the shore look like we were walking on a mirror.

    Hello Granny,

You are right! There are lots of good folks in the Midwest . In fact,my mother is coming out from Indiana for her birthday (81) and Thanksgiving.

Your philosophy is the best . I have learned to always respect a heartfelt apology: it better, and rarer, than gold .

Traveling? I have traveled a lot professionally , but rarely for pleasure.
My wife has introduced me to idea of "vacations ."

I hope you both have an enjoyable evening.

Hope everyone has a great day...looks like a lot of sunshine all over the map (not here though!) AP, take an extra long walk for me today please!!
Casey, we've been married almost 40years and have never really taken a vacation. Usually a matter of time or money, but like you I have a very small comfort zone. I am TRYING to be more adventurous. I'll let you know how that works out for me !!
Love the white on white...very cool Hope you will be able to share some of Mary's creations!

  12. Hello Mare,

I will do that. I will take a good long walk today and send a little Southern California to you , Casey , Granny and everyone here.

I might walk out to what I call 'Ape Rock"-it's a large outcropping used as a backdrop in countless movies, two being Planet of the Apes(thus the name) and The Big Labowski.

    Be well,
